This site is intended to provide the OLAP community and industry with information related to the XML for Analysis specification developed and released jointly by Hyperion Solutions and Microsoft Corporation in April of 2001. XML for Analysis is a set of XML Message Interfaces that use the industry standard Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) to define the data access interaction between a client application and an analytical data provider (OLAP and data mining) working over the Internet.

The XML:DB initiative is an industry body aimed at developing an Open Souce framework for XML databases. In addition the initiative hopes to improve understanding between vendors and provide information in an emerging marketplace about XML databases.
